Nurse Practitioners

A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse who has completed advanced education and can offer many of the same services as a Doctor. Sheboygan Internal Medicine Associates Nurse Practitioners are independent of senior housing facilities and are affiliated with Sheboygan Internal Medicine Associates.

If you already have a doctor who is a member of the Sheboygan Internal Medicine Associates group, our Nurse Practitioners have complete access to your Doctor and medical files at our medical office. Doris U. Theune, MSN, RN, GNP-BC
 

Doris U. Theune, MSN, RN, GNP-BC

Doris began practicing with our office in May of 1991.

She specializes in adult and geriatric care, splitting her time between our office and seeing our patients who are recovering at area rehabilitation centers and who reside at assisted living and nursing home facilities in Sheboygan County.

Doris received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1983. She then earned a Master of Science in Nursing in 1990 from the University of Colorado at the Health Services Center in Denver, Colorado. Doris is board-certified as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. She is certified to perform bone density testing by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry.

She is taking advantage of being an empty nester with husband Marc; together they enjoy walking, biking, reading, and travel.

Richard began working with our office in December 1997.

Richard enjoys the successes he shares with our patients involved in his anticoagulation clinic.

Richard received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana in 1975. In 1976 he had a direct commission into the Army Nurse Corps. He received his adult nurse practitioner training at Selias B. Hayes Army Community Hospital at Ft. Ord, California in 1980 and was the honor graduate of the class. Richard was then selected to attend the Officers Advanced Course where he received training and further special education and emphasis in medical department management. Richard has extensive experience gained at the wealth of medical facilities he served at during his duty with the Army. Richard is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. He is also licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. He has received special training various aspects of Anticoagulation Management.

Creating fine writing instruments and small wood working projects are the hobbies Richard enjoys.

Monica began working with our office in August of 2001.

Monica received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Madison in 1992. She then earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1999. During the time Monica was completing her education, she served as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. Monica is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. She is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry to perform Bone Density Testing.

Her interests include reading, playing Sheepshead, and tending to her vineyard with her husband and two children.

Nicole (Niki) started at our office in 2008.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bellin College of Nursing in Green Bay, WI in 2001. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Concordia University in 2008. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Concordia University in 2012. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and holds a license as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. Niki is certified in Advanced Life Support, and is a Basic Life Support Trainer.

She is married, the mother of 3 children, and is an active runner and participates annually in multiple marathons.

Theresa joined our office in 2010.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in 1998. She then earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in 2003. She is board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber.

Theresa has a special interest in helping others achieve weight loss, and enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.

Rachael joined our office in 2012.

She sees patients at our office and also at assisted living and nursing home facilities in Sheboygan County. She has experience in both Oncology and Hospice.

Rachael received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2007. She then received her Master of Science in Nursing from Marian University in Fond du Lac in 2011. She is board-certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber. She is certified to perform Department of Transportation (DOT) examinations at our facility.

Rachael is a newlywed who enjoys golfing and being outdoors.

Shana joined our office in 2012.

She received her Bachelor of Nursing from Marquette University in 2002 and received her Master of Science in Nursing from Concordia University in 2010. She has background experience in Women's Health. Shana is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She holds a license as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber.

She is the married mother of two daughters. She enjoys running, sports, fishing and being outdoors.
